My client is a community-focused Federally Qualified Health Center dedicated to providing high-quality, comprehensive healthcare services to underserved populations. They are committed to promoting health equity and improving the lives of their diverse patient population, with a special focus on the Spanish-speaking community.
They are seeking a compassionate and culturally sensitive Bilingual Registered Nurse (RN) who is fluent in Spanish to join their dynamic healthcare team in Manhattan, NY. In this role, you will play a vital role in delivering patient-centered care, health education, and support services to their Spanish-speaking patients. Your role will be integral in ensuring that language is not a barrier to receiving quality healthcare.
The annual base salary range is $85,000 to $95,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients, including assessments, treatments, and health education, in accordance with established protocols and procedures
- Communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking patients and their families to understand their healthcare needs and provide clear instructions and guidance
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, nurse practitioners, social workers, and medical assistants, to deliver coordinated and comprehensive care
- Conduct patient triage, including assessing the severity of conditions and determining the appropriate level of care or intervention.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and other treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
- Educate patients on chronic disease management, preventive care, and healthy lifestyle choices, ensuring that information is culturally and linguistically appropriate
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and service delivery
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards
- Assist in the coordination of care for patients with complex needs, including referrals to specialists and community resources
- Participate in community outreach and health promotion activities to raise awareness about available services at the FQHC
Job Requirements
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of NY
- Fluent in Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken forms
- A minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a community health, public health, or primary care setting. Experience working in an FQHC or with underserved populations is highly desirable
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (ADN/BSN) from an accredited nursing program
- Strong clinical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a commitment to patient-centered care
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including a deep understanding of the cultural and social determinants of health affecting the Spanish-speaking community
