About the Opportunity
Our client in Queens, NY is seeking a compassionate and experienced Addictions Psychiatrist to join their multidisciplinary behavioral health team on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for a psychiatrist who is passionate about evidence-based, person-centered care for individuals with substance use disorders (SUD) and co-occurring mental health conditions. You’ll provide diagnostic evaluations, medication management—including MAT—and clinical oversight in a collaborative, trauma-informed environment.
The base pay for this position is $140 to $200 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and formulate treatment plans
- Prescribe and manage Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) including buprenorphine/naloxone, naltrexone, or other approved medications
- Collaborate with therapists, case managers, and nursing staff to support integrated care
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Provide consultation and clinical supervision to staff when appropriate
- Ensure accurate, timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and agency standards
- Participate in case conferences and team meetings as scheduled
- Support continuity of care through discharge planning and coordination with external providers
Job Requirements
- MD or DO with Board Certification (or eligibility) in Psychiatry
- Subspecialty certification or significant experience in Addiction Psychiatry or Addiction Medicine
- Active and unrestricted medical license in New York
- At least 2 years of clinical experience working with individuals with SUD and co-occurring disorders
- Familiarity with trauma-informed and harm reduction approaches
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
