About the Opportunity
Our client is a community-based organization in New York City dedicated to providing accessible healthcare, mental health services, and social support to underserved populations. They are seeking an Assistant Director of Social Work in Brooklyn to play a key leadership role in overseeing clinical services for young adults and their families. This position provides direct clinical supervision, supports program development, and ensures high-quality, evidence-based care. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate leader with strong clinical expertise in young adult and family therapy, trauma-informed care, and program management.
The annual base salary range is $80,000 to $95,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee clinical services for young adults and their families, ensuring a high standard of care
- Provide clinical supervision to therapists, case managers, and support staff
- Assist in developing treatment plans and interventions tailored to the needs of young adults and families
- Ensure compliance with ethical and legal standards in clinical practice
- Collaborate with the Clinical Director to enhance program effectiveness and service delivery
- Implement and refine evidence-based therapeutic approaches for young adults and families
- Assist in developing policies and procedures to improve program operations
- Monitor program outcomes and recommend improvements based on data and client feedback
- Maintain a small caseload, providing direct therapy as needed
- Support crisis intervention efforts and coordinate care with external providers
- Advocate for young adults and their families, ensuring access to appropriate resources
- Conduct training sessions and workshops for clinical staff on best practices in young adult and family therapy
- Support professional growth through mentorship and continuing education opportunities
- Promote a positive, team-oriented clinical environment
- Work closely with families, community organizations, and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care
- Represent the organization in outreach efforts, fostering strong community partnerships
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate holistic client care
Job Requirements
- Master’s or Doctorate in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field
- LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, or LCAT license in New York
- Minimum of 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Expertise in young adult mental health, family systems therapy, and trauma-informed care
