About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Nurse Manager for our client’s Mother-Baby unit for night shifts located in Brooklyn, New York. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in Obstetrics (OB) and Labor & Delivery (L&D). This role involves assisting the Nurse Manager in overseeing the clinical and administrative functions of the Mother-Baby unit to ensure the highest quality of patient care.
The annual base salary range is $115,000 to $135,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the management and coordination of the Mother-Baby unit, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and standards of care
- Supervise and support the nursing staff during night shifts, providing guidance and ensuring a collaborative team environment
- Monitor patient care to ensure safety, comfort, and adherence to established protocols
- Participate in the development and implementation of nursing care plans, ensuring individualized patient care
- Oversee the scheduling and staffing of the unit to maintain appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios
- Assist in the orientation, training, and evaluation of new staff members
- Act as a liaison between nursing staff, patients, and families to address concerns and provide updates on patient status
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Assist in managing inventory and ordering of medical supplies and equipment
- Handle administrative tasks such as documentation, reporting, and maintaining accurate patient records
Requirements
- Current RN license in good standing
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in OB and/or Labor and Delivery
- Previous leadership or management experience preferred
- Strong clinical skills in maternal and newborn care
