About the Opportunity
Our client a prestigious law firm is seeking a Bankruptcy Paralegal to work hybrid out of Manhattan! The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive support to attorneys in bankruptcy-related matters, including filing and serving documents in bankruptcy courts across New Jersey, New York, and other federal jurisdictions. Extensive knowledge of the United States Bankruptcy Code and the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure is required.
The annual base salary range is $90,000 to $135,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Support attorneys by handling tasks such as filing documents in New Jersey, New York, and federal bankruptcy courts
- Prepare and review claims
- Coordinate with claims agents, court staff, and clients
- Assist with hearings, checking local rules, conducting research, and helping close bankruptcy and restructuring transactions
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2+ years of Corporate Paralegal Experience at a law firm or Financial firm
- Must have extensive knowledge of the United States Bankruptcy Code and the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure
- Needs to have filing experience
- Strong knowledge of electronic filing through the CM/ECF filing system in New Jersey and other federal bankruptcy courts is required.
- Familiarity with fundamental bankruptcy concepts, court pleadings, claims reconciliation and other related matters
