About the Opportunity
Our client is a US-based company that manufactures smart glass software located in San Jose, California. They are hiring a Controller/ Senior Director of Finance with the option to be fully remote. This role will report and work closely with the board of directors overseeing all internal accounting and finance.
The annual base salary range is $190,000 to $225,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Responsibilities
- Direct the financial accounting of the company to ensure all financial data is accurate and provided in a timely manner
- Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for the function, coordinating activities and managing direct and indirect reports to achieve the goals and initiatives needed to ensure success including, but not limited to, the following areas:
- Accounting policy
- Control environment
- Closing process
- Manage annual external audit preparation and oversight and collaborates with external public accounting team to comply with local statutory and US GAAP accounting requirements and standards
- Align, establish and drive monthly and quarterly close schedules, deadlines, and key meetings with internal partners
- Manage all monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings, including account reconciliations, accrual schedules and general journal entries, ensuring that reconciliations are performed accurately and on-time
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and financial accuracy
- Lead the company’s budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
Requirements
- 10-20 years of experience preferred in a related field
- CPA required
- Background in the distribution industry is preferred
