About the Opportunity
Our client is a trusted healthcare provider in Queens, NY that is dedicated to delivering high-quality medical and behavioral health services to the community. They are seeking a Licensed Mental Health Counselor for Substance Abuse to provide compassionate care and support recovery. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a collaborative and patient-focused environment.
The annual base salary range is $55,000 to $65,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify clients’ mental health needs and develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual, group, and family therapy
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, documenting progress and treatment plans in compliance with ethical and legal standards
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to client care
- Educate clients and their families about mental health issues, coping strategies, and resources available for support
- Stay current with best practices in mental health counseling and participate in ongoing professional development
- Adhere to all ethical guidelines and standards of practice set forth by relevant regulatory bodies
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree in Counseling
- Active and unrestricted LMHC license in New York
- Proven experience in mental health counseling, with a strong understanding of therapeutic modalities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of substance abuse and opioid treatment
