About the Opportunity
Our client is a leading public pension fund. They are actively looking to hire a Mailroom Specialist to join their team for a long-term consulting opportunity. The successful candidate is a highly motivated, detail-oriented professional who will be able to prioritize multiple types of requests and efficiently process information. The Mailroom Specialist manages and distributes mail within our agency and also processes our outgoing communication to our members. They receive, sort, and deliver mail to different departments, ensuring efficient communication. The mailroom is vital to ensuring proper communication with our members.
The base pay for this position is $20 to $22 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure regular mail is counted, sorted, opened, and delivered according to SLA
- Ensure daily correspondence is inserted before COB daily and report any issues to Management
- Ensure service is alerted and management is kept aware of arrival and results of visit
- Ensure all logs (incoming mail, regular and express/certified, FedEx, postage and correspondence) are kept and updated daily
- Enter certified, express, priority, FedEx, mail into Excel spreadsheet and deliver to Document Management Department (DMD) according to guidelines set forth in SLA
- Schedule FedEx pickups for agency
- Deliver mail/boxes internally to different departments and senior management using Wasp system
- Deliver certified, express mail to post office
- Ensure there are enough supplies on hand to process mail, this includes but is not limited to postage, envelopes, ink, print heads, batteries, etc.
- Ensure mail is distributed and picked up twice a day and all outgoing mail is processed and ready for pickup before COB
- Move furniture when needed
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2 years of full-time satisfactory experience performing mail/stock room duties
