About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading behavioral health center in Ridgewood, New Jersey, is seeking an experienced RN to lead their nursing staff and ensure top-quality patient care. As Nurse Manager, you’ll oversee daily operations, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and maintain a safe, supportive environment for individuals with behavioral and mental health needs.
The annual base salary range is $105,000 to $115,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and manage the nursing team, including RNs, LPNs, and nursing assistants, ensuring high-quality, compassionate care for residents with behavioral health needs
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individual care plans for residents, ensuring that both physical and behavioral health needs are appropriately addressed
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures, related to nursing and patient care
- Monitor and assess the quality of care provided, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including social workers, therapists, physicians, and behavioral health specialists, to provide holistic care to residents
- Provide leadership in the development and implementation of behavioral health protocols, including de-escalation techniques, medication management, and crisis intervention
- Manage staffing schedules, ensuring appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios, and addressing any staffing issues or shortages
- Participate in recruitment, training, and professional development of nursing staff to enhance competencies in behavioral health care
- Ensure the safe and appropriate administration of medications and treatments, and oversee nursing documentation and resident records
- Participate in resident and family meetings to provide updates on care plans, progress, and concerns
- Promote a positive, supportive work environment and foster a culture of teamwork, respect, and patient-centered care
- Respond to emergency situations and provide leadership in the event of a crisis or critical incident
Job Requirements
- Current RN licensure in New Jersey
- Minimum of 5 years of psychiatric experience
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
- Previous leadership or management experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in addiction medicine or behavioral health
- In-depth knowledge of nursing practices, state and federal regulations, and behavioral health care standards
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
