About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a compassionate and culturally competent Registered Nurse to join our client’s primary care team located in Stamford, Connecticut. This team member will be providing comprehensive healthcare services to pediatric and adolescent patients in a community health setting with effective communication with a diverse patient population.
The base pay for this position is $45 to $50 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough medical assessments, including physical examinations, developmental screenings, and psychosocial assessments, for pediatric and adolescent patients presenting with acute and chronic health concerns
- Provide evidence-based diagnosis, treatment, and management of common pediatric conditions, such as upper respiratory infections, asthma, allergies, and skin conditions, as well as adolescent health issues, including reproductive health, mental health, and substance abuse
- Collaborate with pediatricians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care, facilitate referrals, and ensure comprehensive, integrated healthcare services for pediatric and adolescent patients with complex medical and social needs
- Educate patients and their families about preventive care, healthy lifestyle habits, immunizations, and age-appropriate developmental milestones, offering culturally sensitive health education materials and resources
- Administer vaccinations, perform routine screenings, and provide counseling on nutrition, safety, and injury prevention, tailoring recommendations to meet the unique needs and cultural preferences of our diverse patient population
- Conduct adolescent health assessments, including confidential discussions about sexual health, contraception, STI prevention, and substance use, fostering a supportive and nonjudgmental environment for open communication and shared decision-making
- Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in electronic health records (EHR), ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, billing requirements, and quality improvement initiatives, while prioritizing patient confidentiality and data security
Requirements
- Current licensure as a RN in CT required
- Previous experience of working in pediatric primary care, adolescent health, or community health settings, with a focus on culturally competent care delivery preferred, but not required
