About the Opportunity
Our client is a nonprofit organization in Hoboken, NJ that is dedicated to supporting individuals impacted by HIV/AIDS, offering a range of services including prevention education, counseling, and advocacy. They are looking for RNs who will provide professional nursing care to patients with behavioral healthcare needs and work with clinical and case management staff to coordinate care and assist with clients’ treatment plans.
The annual base salary range is $80,000 to $90,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather case history
- Administer and note reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications
- Assist the client in understanding the nature of the disease of addiction and the need for treatment
- Record and report all observed symptoms, reactions to treatments and changes in patients safety status
- Administer medications to patients
- Collaborate with team in providing health information and maintains clients’ medical records
- Respond to patient care needs/issues and assists patients with activities of daily living, promoting a positive therapeutic environment
- Coordinate all clinical HIV prevention services including nurse training for Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) visits, education, and outreach
- Assist with the admitting, discharge and transfer process
- Document all patient information on medical charts and follows the physician’s written orders
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient treatments, immunizations, and laboratory results according to standard medical recordkeeping
- Provide HIV prevention education including testing and Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) education to both patients and staff
- Facilitate patient access to HIV prevention services
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least 3 years of experience in community health nursing
- Knowledge of health care, detoxification process, addiction, co-occurring disorders and DSM criteria and terminology
- Experience serving persons with HIV/AIDS
- Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar
