Revenue Cycle Manager – Surgical Office

About the Opportunity

Our client is a dynamic surgical office in Wyckoff, NJ that is dedicated to providing excellent patient care and surgical services. We are currently seeking a highly experienced Revenue Cycle Manager to lead and oversee all billing and reimbursement operations, ensuring the efficiency and financial health of their practice.

The Revenue Cycle Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the revenue cycle for our surgical office, from patient billing to collections. This includes supervising the billing team, managing claims submissions, handling denials, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. They are looking for a strategic leader with deep knowledge of physician office billing, who can optimize revenue processes and lead a large, diverse team.

The annual base salary range is $90,000 to $120,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee all functions of the revenue cycle, including billing, coding, collections, payment posting, and account reconciliation
  • Manage and lead a large team of billing and revenue cycle professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of claims to insurance payers, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance
  • Handle and resolve claim denials and rejections to maximize reimbursement
  • Implement and monitor key performance metrics related to revenue cycle operations, identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and billing practices, including HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid guidelines, and payer-specific requirements
  • Work closely with physicians and clinical staff to improve charge capture and revenue integrity
  • Lead initiatives for process improvements, including optimizing workflows and enhancing system capabilities
  • Prepare regular reports on financial performance, accounts receivable, and collections
  • Stay current on industry trends and regulatory changes affecting revenue cycle management in a physician office/surgical setting

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in revenue cycle management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • Proven experience with physician office billing and coding, particularly in a surgical or outpatient setting
  • Strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement processes, including CPT and ICD-10 coding
  • Experience managing large teams and driving performance improvement initiatives
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments
  • Knowledge of revenue cycle management systems and electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
