About the Opportunity
We’re hiring a Senior Fund Accountant for a newly created finance role at a top-tier Private Equity, Venture Capital, and Real Estate Lending firm in NYC. This high-impact position was established due to global growth and offers significant exposure, strategic involvement, and career advancement. Reporting directly to the C-suite, the role involves managing core accounting and financial operations for the firm’s real estate lending and investment funds, including performance reporting, data analytics, investor communications, and compliance. The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, and eager to take ownership of financial processes while contributing to the firm’s continued expansion.
The annual base salary range is $120,000 to $140,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Fund Accounting & Reporting: Prepare financial statements and ensure accurate NAV calculations and fund performance reporting
- Transaction Management: Oversee loan-related transactions, reconciliations, and valuations
- Investor Relations: Prepare investor reports, distribution schedules, and address financial inquiries
- Compliance & Taxation: Ensure GAAP compliance, manage tax filings, and adhere to regulatory requirements
- Audit & Financial Analysis: Lead audit preparations, collaborate with auditors, and provide financial insights
- Debt & Capital Management: Monitor debt facilities, loan covenants, and support capital raising efforts
- Risk & Controls: Enforce internal controls, review financial transactions, and mitigate risks
- Financial Modeling & Forecasting: Support financial projections, cash flow analysis, and investment evaluations
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior staff and provide guidance on fund accounting processes
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with origination, underwriting, asset management, and legal teams to align financial strategies
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CFA preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in fund accounting and/or external audit, ideally with exposure to real estate lending, private equity, or structured finance
- Strong understanding of real estate finance, construction loans, and bridge loans
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and financial statement analysis
- Deep knowledge of US GAAP, accounting for real estate investments, and tax regulations related to real estate finance
- Experience with fund accounting software and financial systems (e.g., Investran, Yardi, or similar)
