About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Surgical Physician Assistant to join our client’s dynamic surgical team in Bronxville, New York. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of first assistance experience in surgery or equivalent experience through a surgical residency program as a new graduate. This position involves working closely with our surgeons in various surgical procedures, providing comprehensive care to their patients throughout the surgical process.
The annual base salary range is $135,000 to $165,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as the first assistant in a variety of surgical procedures, providing direct surgical support to attending surgeons
- Perform pre-operative assessments, obtain patient histories, and conduct physical examinations
- Assist in the planning and execution of surgical interventions, including obtaining informed consent
- Monitor and manage patients during the perioperative period, including post-operative care and follow-up
- Participate in daily rounds, presenting patient cases and collaborating with the surgical team to develop and implement treatment plans
- Provide patient education regarding surgical procedures, recovery expectations, and post-operative care
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of surgical procedures and patient interactions in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Stay current with surgical techniques, practices, and advancements in the field through continuous education and professional development
Job Requirements
- Licensed Physician Assistant in NY
- Minimum of 3 years of first assistance experience in a surgical setting, or completion of a surgical residency program as a new graduate
- Strong clinical skills in surgical practice and patient management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Proficient in the use of electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation processes
