About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our client’s Urology Surgery team in Queens, NYC. This position offers a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with leading urologists in providing exceptional patient care in both preoperative and postoperative settings. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in urology, possess excellent surgical skills, and be committed to delivering compassionate and patient-centered care.
The annual base salary range is $140,000 to $155,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history reviews and physical examinations
- Collaborate with urologists to determine the appropriateness of surgical interventions
- Educate patients on surgical procedures, potential risks, and postoperative care
- Assist urologists during surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile and safe environment
- Manage intraoperative patient care, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications as needed
- Provide support in the coordination of surgical instruments and equipment
- Monitor and manage patients in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) or recovery room
- Assess and address postoperative complications or concerns promptly
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement comprehensive postoperative care plans
- Educate patients on postoperative care instructions, medications, and potential side effects
- Provide information on lifestyle modifications and preventive measures to promote optimal urological health
- Work collaboratively with urologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including preoperative assessments, intraoperative notes, and postoperative care documentation
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and documentation standards
Job Requirements
- Must be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Certification in urology or a related field is highly desirable
- Previous experience in urology, surgery, or a first assist is required
- Must speak Spanish or Russian fluently
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced surgical environment
