About the Opportunity:
Provide comprehensive nursing care in the Ambulatory Infusion Therapy Unit at a medical center in Brooklyn, NY. Responsible for direct patient care using the nursing process while prescribing, delegating, and coordinating care. Based on the Department of Nursing's standards, diagnose and treat health problems through case finding, health teaching, counseling, and care provision. Supervise care by LPNs, RNPs, nursing attendants, technicians, and supplemental staff. This is a full-time contract position.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $63.25 to $74.75 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assess immediate and continuing care needs of patients/significant others.
- Develop comprehensive care plans addressing physical, educational, and psychosocial needs.
- Provide and oversee direct patient care according to assessed needs and medical regimen.
- Supervise care provided by other nursing personnel.
- Document and communicate patient responses to illness and treatments to team members.
- Ensure integration of age-specific care needs in the plan of care.
- Engage in QI activities related to patient care delivery and nursing standards.
- Participate in nursing staff orientation and assume charge responsibilities when delegated.
- Maintain therapeutic environments for patients and staff.
- Serve as a clinical resource and support research initiatives by the Nursing Department.
Job Requirements:
- BSN prepared.
- Two or more years of Med-Surg and Chemotherapy experience.
- Knowledge and competency in blood and chemotherapy transfusions for adults and pediatrics.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications.
- New York Registered Nurse License.
- Experience with BHMC's electronic record and billing systems.
