About the Opportunity:
This full-time contract position involves handling, labeling, and processing laboratory specimens according to established protocols. The Lab Specialist, Med Tech utilizes both manual and computerized systems to support laboratory operations and ensures accurate documentation.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $18.76 to $22.17 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) are finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct specimen handling and processing activities.
- Review incoming materials for completeness and accuracy.
- Assist in preparing and distributing samples to work areas or departments.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare staff and patients regarding test results.
- Maintain organized records and perform data entry and clerical tasks.
- Operate computer systems for data access and report generation.
- Provide support in material and supply transport within or between facilities.
- Follow institutional policies, safety procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
- Assist with general laboratory upkeep and inventory management.
Job Requirements:
- 6 months of experience as a Phlebotomist, Medical Assistant, or Lab Aide.
- Availability for training during the day for the first 2 weeks.
- Willingness to work weekends with rotating days off.
