About the Opportunity:
This opportunity exists for a Registered Respiratory Therapist at a major teaching and Level I trauma facility in Durham, NC. The role involves providing comprehensive care to patients across various age groups, including infants, adults, and pediatrics. As a part-time contract position, the therapist conducts respiratory assessments, administers therapy, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The facility emphasizes the importance of providing quality respiratory care and documenting patient progress using the EPIC charting system.
The estimated base pay for these positions is $47.30 to $55.90 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from the posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive respiratory assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer various types of respiratory therapy, including aerosol treatment and mechanical ventilation support.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care for patients with complex health conditions.
- Monitor and document patient progress in the EPIC system, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Stay informed on the latest research and practices in respiratory therapy to improve patient care outcomes.
Job Requirements:
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and RRT required.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy in relevant healthcare settings.
- Experience with EPIC charting system preferred.
- Strong skills in communication and organization.
- Flu vaccine required; no exemptions or declinations accepted.
