About the Opportunity:
This position involves providing maintenance and repair services for commercial buildings, focusing on plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment. As a contracted maintenance mechanic, this full-time role includes performing daily inspections, minor repairs, preventive maintenance, and ensuring safety compliance in building systems. The mechanic engages in tasks such as HVAC system checks, plumbing modifications, electrical repairs, janitorial oversight, office relocations, security system upkeep, and contractor liaison duties. Additionally, the role requires on-call availability to address maintenance emergencies outside regular hours.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $15.28 to $18.06 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform daily inspections and maintenance of HVAC systems and components.
- Conduct minor repairs and modifications on plumbing and electrical systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and document necessary files.
- Conduct monthly inspections of life safety components.
- Conduct daily inspections of building interiors and exteriors.
- Assist with office relocations and furniture assembly.
- Maintain building security systems and manage access.
- Schedule outside contractors for complex repairs.
- Serve as a point of contact for maintenance issues in designated office complexes.
- Remain available for on-call assignments during off-duty periods.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Five years of experience in commercial building maintenance.
- Knowledge of skilled building trades and safety procedures.
- Ability to perform various skilled trades functions.
- Proficiency in tool and equipment use for maintenance tasks.
- Ability to read blueprints and perform accurate measurements.
- Ability to install, maintain, and repair electric motors and mechanical equipment.
- Ability to be on-call and carry agency-assigned cell phone.
- Ability to speak and understand English, both verbally and in writing.
- Must pass a level 2 background check and MVR.
