About the Opportunity:
The RN in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) provides specialized care to patients with common diagnoses such as neuro conditions, cardiac issues, trauma, respiratory ailments like COPD, and sepsis. This full-time contract position offers an engaging opportunity to work with specialty equipment including temporary pacers, chest tubes, A lines, Bipap, Neptune Vapo, and manage chronic vents with Respiratory Therapy assistance. The patient demographic involves individuals aged 18 years to adults within a 64-bed unit that includes 15 designated neuro beds. The shift is from 6:30 p.m. to 7 a.m., and floating is required. Please note that block scheduling is not guaranteed. The estimated base pay for these positions are $51.43 to $60.78 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Job Responsibilities:
- Conducting assessments and creating care plans for patients with complex medical conditions.
- Providing specialized care in areas such as neuro, cardiac, trauma, and post-operative recovery.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians and respiratory therapists.
- Monitoring and documenting patient progress and response to treatments.
- Staying informed on best practices in intermediate care and related therapies.
Job Requirements:
- Valid NY RN license and all other RN licenses as per NURSYS Report.
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in IMCU/PCU settings.
- Travel experience in similar roles.
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR system.
