About the Opportunity:
This full-time contract position offers an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Med Surg Orthopedic care. The role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients with orthopedic trauma, spinal surgery, and other elective orthopedic surgical diagnoses. The nurse collaborates with a team known for research and innovation, contributing to and benefitting from educational and professional growth opportunities. This dynamic role requires adaptability to rotating shift schedules, including day, evening, and night shifts, as well as floating, weekends, holidays, on-call, and charge duties per unit needs.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $51.70 to $61.10 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducting assessments and creating care plans for orthopedic patients.
- Providing specialized orthopedic nursing care and education.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
- Monitoring and documenting patient progress accurately.
- Staying informed on new research and advancements in orthopedic care.
Job Requirements:
- RN license (NY only).
- BLS certification (AHA only).
- ACLS certification (AHA only).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in orthopedic nursing.
- Telemetry experience required.
- Experience in a level 1 trauma facility preferred.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
