About the Opportunity:
As an RN in Wound Care, you provide safe, competent, quality care based on nursing theory and research to patients with wound, ostomy, and continence needs. You assist in health assessments related to wound care, assess and document patient responses, collaborate with the healthcare team, and provide education to patients and families. This is a full-time contract position.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $60.50 to $71.50 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct health assessments and develop care plans for wound, ostomy, and continence care.
- Assist with developing, revising, and evaluating standards of care.
- Assess and document patient responses to treatments for wound, ostomy, continence, fistula, and complex wounds.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team and refer to other disciplines as needed.
- Provide education to patients and families for preventing complications related to ostomies, wounds, or continence issues.
- Initiate preventative measures for patients at risk for pressure injuries.
- Participate in quality improvement activities within the unit and hospital-wide.
- Maintain data security and confidentiality following patient rights policies.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Active NYS Registered Nurse license.
- Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) or equivalent certification.
- Three to five years of experience in healthcare.
- Ability to utilize electronic record systems and relevant healthcare equipment.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Must have a Wound Care Certificate.
