About the Opportunity
Our client, a boutique investment bank specializing in consumer, health & wellness, food & beverage, and beauty sectors, is seeking one to two driven and entrepreneurial Associates/Analysts to join their New York team. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and brings 1–2 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or operational finance. These individuals will gain hands-on exposure to the full mergers and acquisitions lifecycle—from early pitch development to deal execution—while collaborating with senior bankers and clients across multiple consumer-focused industries.
The annual base salary range is $125,000 to $175,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Create sophisticated financial models to evaluate companies and potential transactions
- Contribute to pitch materials and other client-facing presentations
- Perform in-depth research on target companies, competitors, and market trends
- Support senior bankers by generating strategic ideas and identifying new deal opportunities
- Maintain a strong grasp of industry developments to provide informed insights to clients
- Track and interpret economic, sector, and company data to help shape forecasts and deal recommendations
- Participate in all aspects of due diligence for active transactions
- Guide junior team members in assembling analyses and presentation materials
- Mentor and provide feedback to analyst-level staff
- Build and sustain strong client relationships based on trust and credibility
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with at least one year of experience in investment banking or a closely related field
- Familiarity with consumer-focused businesses, key market drivers, and emerging trends
- Hands-on experience with financial or market data tools such as FactSet, Capital IQ, SNL, or Bloomberg, plus advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working in a team-driven environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proven strength in financial modeling, accounting concepts, and overall finance knowledge
- Strong organizational and project-management abilities with meticulous attention to detail
- Self-starter attitude with a willingness to take ownership and initiative
