About the Opportunity
We are partnered with a prestigious global hedge fund that is seeking a Third-Party Risk Associate to join its New York City office. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a sophisticated investment platform, partnering with teams across compliance, operations, and technology to strengthen the firm’s vendor governance, due diligence, and risk management framework.
The annual base salary range is $125,000 to $150,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Partner with internal business units and external vendors to support and refine the firm’s third-party risk management framework
- Assist in developing, maintaining, and optimizing operational due diligence protocols to ensure efficient and standardized vendor assessments
- Oversee the end-to-end vendor lifecycle, from onboarding and risk identification to issue remediation and ongoing monitoring
- Contribute to the automation of reporting processes and help maintain the firm’s vendor risk management platform
- Build and sustain strong relationships with internal partners (Compliance, Legal, InfoSec, Procurement, etc.) to ensure alignment across functions
- Conduct and summarize vendor reviews, escalating risks when appropriate and proposing mitigations where needed
- Provide analytical and administrative support to the broader risk team on strategic initiatives and ongoing assessments
- Stay current on industry best practices and evolving regulatory expectations related to third-party risk and operational resilience
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience managing or assessing external vendors in financial services, consulting, or a related risk management capacity
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or relevant certification (e.g., CTPRP, CRVPM, CISA) is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive mindset toward process improvement and automation
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Proven ability to build collaborative relationships across teams and with external service providers
- Excellent judgment, integrity, and professionalism in handling sensitive information and decision-making
- A solutions-oriented approach and intellectual curiosity to identify and address risks before they materialize
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex issues into clear, actionable insights
