About the Opportunity
Our client is a law firm in Roseland, NJ that is seeking a highly experienced Litigation Paralegal to support their attorneys across all phases of the litigation process—from discovery through trial and post-trial procedures. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience at a large law firm and possess a deep understanding of New York and New Jersey court systems, docketing procedures, and litigation support tools. The base pay for this position is $45 to $50 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of litigation including data preservation, document production, calendaring, and filings
- Maintain dockets for active matters and track deadlines using calendaring software (e.g., BEC Legal)
- Draft discovery documents and pleadings for attorney review
- Prepare and review court filings, including cite and fact checking, Bluebook formatting, and assembling exhibits
- Conduct legal and factual research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, EDGAR, etc
- Organize and maintain case files (electronic and physical)
- Coordinate with attorneys, vendors, court reporters, clients, and witnesses to support trial and arbitration prep
- Develop and maintain production logs, privilege logs, and redaction logs
- Collaborate with Practice Support and attorneys on document management and review systems like Relativity and Trial Director
- Ensure compliance with all court rules, deadlines, and service requirements
- Stay on top of administrative responsibilities, including timekeeping and workload updates
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 4 years of experience as a litigation paralegal at a large law firm
- Advanced knowledge of NY and NJ federal, state, and local court procedures
- Expertise in ECF rules, filings, and calendaring systems
- Proficiency in litigation tools such as Relativity, Trial Director, and document management platforms
- Outstanding organizational, communication, and analytical skills
- Ability to interact with attorneys, staff, and external partners at all levels
- Exceptional attention to detail and time management
- Strong client service orientation
