About the Opportunity
Our client, a nonprofit focused on providing transitional support services to underserved communities, is in search of a Mental Health Program Supervisor to join their team in Brooklyn, NY. The individual in this position will lead the coordination and oversight of clinical and case management services within a transitional housing program. This role ensures the delivery of trauma-informed, client-centered care while maintaining compliance with all regulatory and internal standards. The supervisor will also support staff development and contribute to a safe, supportive environment for both clients and team members.
The annual base salary range is $80,000 to $90,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Guide and support Case Managers and Clinical Coordinators in conducting assessments, developing service plans, and making appropriate referrals
- Ensure all client documentation, including case notes and treatment plans, meets quality and compliance standards
- Provide direct services in the absence of assigned staff, including crisis intervention and housing assessments
- Promote a strengths-based approach that respects client autonomy and fosters empowerment
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of community resources and ensure clients are connected to relevant services such as healthcare, education, and employment
- Monitor client progress and ensure adherence to housing maintenance responsibilities
- Submit timely and accurate reports on service delivery metrics to relevant oversight bodies
- Ensure all interventions align with trauma-informed care principles and support long-term housing stability
- Conduct regular supervision sessions with case management and clinical staff, offering guidance on complex cases and professional development
- Review and approve supervisory notes and documentation in internal systems
- Facilitate internal team meetings and participate in inter-agency collaborations
- Ensure staff are trained in crisis prevention, harm reduction, and culturally responsive practices
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with agency and regulatory requirements
- Assist with data collection and reporting systems to track program outcomes
- Ensure adherence to all operational policies and procedures
- Champion a culture of non-violence, emotional safety, and community through the use of trauma-informed frameworks
- Utilize tools such as safety plans, community meetings, and psychoeducational groups to support both clients and staff
- Model and promote the organization’s core values and commitments to healing, equity, and resilience
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) required; LCSW preferred or in active pursuit of licensure.
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a social services or shelter setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with client management systems and electronic documentation.
- Demonstrated commitment to trauma-informed care and social justice principles.
