About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading global venture capital firm in New York City, is seeking a contract Senior Accountant to support its Management Company finance team. This is a hands-on, project-based role focused on financial reporting, operational process improvement, and maintaining compliance across multiple entities. The ideal candidate brings 6–8+ years of accounting experience, a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, and proficiency with NetSuite. This temporary engagement is ideal for professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments and can hit the ground running.
The base pay for this position is $40 to $52 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the monthly and quarterly close processes, including account reconciliations and GAAP-based reporting
- Maintain accuracy of the general ledger, including journal entries, cash activity, and accruals
- Manage and improve accounts payable operations including vendor payments, invoice processing, and expense reimbursements
- Oversee treasury tasks such as daily cash tracking and reconciliations
- Prepare and review standard and non-standard month-end journal entries for prepaid items, fixed assets, deferred revenue, payroll, and operating accruals
- Monitor and help improve internal controls
- Assist in implementing accounting technology to streamline monthly close procedures
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA preferred
- 6–8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- NetSuite experience is required; Concur experience is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across remote teams
- Bonus: Experience using automation tools or AI-driven finance platforms
