About the Opportunity
Our client is a leading media and broadcasting company with a strong presence across television, digital platforms, and content production. They are currently seeking a Senior Tax Consultant to join their team in Los Angeles.
The base pay is $50 to $60 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Review federal, state, and local income tax filings for both corporate and partnership entities, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations
- Oversee the preparation and timely submission of estimated tax payments and extensions, while tracking associated deadlines
- Evaluate interim and annual tax provisions, with emphasis on calculating current taxable income and verifying deferred tax positions in line with ASC 740
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to gather and analyze financial data for specific business segments, documenting methodologies and assumptions used in tax calculations and projections
- Build familiarity with the operational aspects of assigned business units to better inform tax analysis and planning
- Handle tax authority inquiries by preparing responses to notices and coordinating resolution efforts
- Supervise tax staff and external advisors on designated assignments and ongoing initiatives
- Offer tax-related guidance to internal corporate departments and operational teams
- Contribute to tax planning efforts and support audits through data preparation, analysis, and issue resolution
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in U.S. income tax compliance, ideally with a top-tier public accounting firm
- Solid knowledge of corporate and partnership tax regulations within the U.S.
- Familiarity with core tax accounting principles and methodologies
- Proficient in conducting technical tax research and interpreting complex guidance
- Advanced Excel skills, including use of pivot tables, XLOOKUP, and logic-based formulas
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage responsibilities in a remote environment
- Highly organized self-starter with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to contribute effectively in a team setting
