About the Opportunity
A prestigious school district is seeking a Special Education Itinerant Teacher in Rochester, NY. The Teacher will be responsible for providing both direct and indirect forms of support, collaborating with teachers to shape daily lesson plans, and integrating IEP goals and services into the daily learning and routines of the classroom.
The base pay for this position is $61 to $69 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer. Job Responsibilities
- Oversee classroom activities aimed at fostering the holistic development—emotional, social, intellectual, and physical—of every student
- Demonstrate comprehension of academic expectations for all students, incorporating suitable assessment materials
- Apply a diverse range of instructional strategies, materials, and resources to effectively deliver lessons
- Create weekly and daily written lesson plans tailored to meet the specific needs of each student
- Present lessons in an engaging and captivating manner, reflecting on taught lessons to adjust future instructional plans
Job Requirements
- Bachelors/Masters degree in Education/Special Education required
- NY State Teacher Certification (Special Education)
- NY SPED Certification
- 1+ years of experience working with children or developmental disabilities
