About the Opportunity:
The RN in the Pediatric Emergency Department (Peds ED) provides family-centered care to patients under the age of 19, seeking urgent and emergent care at a Level 1 pediatric trauma and burn center. This full-time contract position involves rotating day/evening/night shifts, with the requirement of working weekends, holidays, on-call, and callback duties as needed. The unit features 18 general care beds, 1 critical care bed, 4 urgent care beds, and a shared 7-bed trauma bay with the adult ED. Nurses manage cases ranging from treat and release to acute critical care and trauma in a dynamic and challenging environment.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $55.00 to $65.00 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and create care plans for pediatric patients.
- Provide therapeutic care for urgent and emergent issues.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate trauma and burn care.
- Monitor and document the progress of pediatric patients.
- Stay informed on the latest pediatric emergency care practices and protocols.
Job Requirements:
- RN License (NY License ONLY) required.
- BLS, PALS, ACLS certifications from AHA required.
- Minimum 2 years of pediatric ED experience required.
- Burn care experience highly desirable.
- TNCC, ATCN, or ABLS certification preferred.
