About the Opportunity
A Denver-based restaurant group is seeking a hybrid AP/Payroll Specialist to join its team on a contract-to-hire basis. This organization focuses on revitalizing iconic, well-loved quick-service restaurant brands and has a growing portfolio that includes established names in the industry. The team is passionate about preserving brand legacies while modernizing operations for long-term success.
The base pay for this position is $25 to $35 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage the monthly close process, including reconciliations and preparation of financial statements
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes
- Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses
- Support external audits and ensure compliance with GAAP standards
- Partner with leadership to provide financial insights that drive strategic decision-making
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred
- 2–7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within multi-unit restaurant, retail, or consumer services
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Experience managing or mentoring staff a plus
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency with accounting systems; ERP experience strongly preferred
