About the Opportunity
Our client, a rapidly growing financial institution headquartered in New York City, is looking to add a Business Analyst to their technology team. This consulting assignment is designed for an analytically-minded technical professional eager to play a pivotal role in designing and formalizing a robust internal enterprise platform. This role provides substantial exposure to business architecture, data modeling, and collaboration with a highly skilled technology team within a dynamic private credit environment.
The estimated base pay for this position is $80 to $150 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Work directly with senior technology leadership to examine, dissect, and document existing Excel- and Power Query–based workflows, formalizing them into clear and actionable technical specifications
- Architect and detail data structures, relationships, and transformation processes forming the backbone of the internal enterprise platform
- Manage, upgrade, and resolve issues with current analytic tools and data models while supporting the transition to a new system
- Break down business requirements into developer-ready deliverables, including database blueprints, calculation logic, and report definitions
- Lead user acceptance testing initiatives to guarantee deliverables align with business objectives, data integrity, and accuracy
- Assist in driving standards for data governance, consistency, and control across various internal data sources
- Partner with the broader technology team to sequence priorities, manage interdependencies, and synchronize development activities
- Act as a strategic advisor to modernize analytical workflows and facilitate migration to the new enterprise platform
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical, quantitative, or analytical discipline (such as Finance, Engineering, or Computer Science)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in analytics, technology consulting, or systems design, ideally within finance or another data-centric industry
- Demonstrated expertise in advanced Excel and Power Query development for complex model-building and data transformation
- Ability to decode sophisticated analytics and translate workflows into organized technical documentation and specifications
- Proficient in supporting or building internal data systems, with hands-on experience in database architecture or analytical platforms
- Working knowledge of SQL or scripting languages (such as Python) for data exploration and validation
Preferred Experience
- Background with business intelligence or data visualization tools (such as Power BI)
- History of streamlining or modernizing Excel-based processes
- Familiarity with structured finance, lending, or asset-based investment data
- Experience partnering directly with executive stakeholders on defining and verifying technology requirements
