About the Opportunity
Our client is a renowned hedge fund. They are actively seeking an experienced Middle Office Operations Specialist to join their team in New York City and report to the SVP of Equity Operations. The ideal candidate will handle key middle-office and post-trade support functions while contributing to projects that enhance business operations and mitigate operational risk. This is a fantastic contract opportunity, and we are looking to fill the position as quickly as possible.
The base pay for this position is $70 to $75 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform trade reconciliations
- Define and implement operational risk controls
- Reconcile internal positions across multiple counterparties and asset classes
- Manage admin positions/transactions/cash reconciliations exceptions across multiple counterparties
- Manage T+0 matching and settlements across multiple asset classes and markets
- Manage mandatory/voluntary corporate action event and post trade event lifecycles
- Analyze our existing operational platform to establish straight through processing and find efficiencies
- Partner with technology teams to deliver automated processes
- Track, resolve, and remediate incidents
Job Requirements
- 5+ yrs of operations experience at an investment management firm, fund administrator, or bank
- BA/BS degree with a strong academic record (preferably in finance or economics)
- Full trade lifecycle and post-trade processing experience in equities and macro asset classes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Data analytical skills (e.g. compiling datasets and identifying anomalies/trends)
- Proficiency in Excel
- Proficiency with Tableau and Alteryx is a plus
