About the Opportunity
Our client, a healthcare organization in Bergen County, New Jersey, is seeking an experienced Education Specialist to support nursing staff within a long-term care environment. This role focuses on staff education, clinical competency, regulatory compliance, and professional development, ensuring nursing teams are prepared to meet evolving clinical and regulatory standards.
The annual base salary range is $90,000 to $125,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, deliver, and maintain orientation programs for newly hired nursing staff and related personnel, ensuring alignment with regulatory and organizational standards
- Collaborate with nursing leadership to assess learning needs for transferred or existing staff and develop individualized education plans
- Plan and facilitate in-services, training sessions, and continuing education programs based on identified competency gaps
- Develop and revise curricula that align with national nursing education standards and continuing education requirements
- Teach courses using adult learning principles, incorporating a variety of instructional methods including classroom, hands-on, and electronic learning platforms
- Participate in and support continuing nursing education programs that enhance clinical knowledge and professional practice
- Promote and educate staff on patient safety principles, infection control practices, and quality standards
Job Requirements
- Current New Jersey RN license required
- BSN required; Master’s degree in Nursing or related field required
- Minimum 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience
- Must have at least 1 year in long-term care
- Teaching or staff education experience preferred
- Demonstrated clinical expertise and ability to translate practice into education
