About the Opportunity
Our client is a community-based nonprofit healthcare organization dedicated to serving diverse and underserved populations in New York City. They are in search of an outpatient staff nurse in Queens to provide a variety of specialized care, including primary care for HIV positive patients.
The base pay for this position is $40 to $43 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Complete triage on walk patients to assess healthcare needs, ensure timely access to care and support an effective clinical workflow
- Complete intake and coordinate co-visits for new patients and walk in patients
- Work closely with providers and other team members to ensure a smooth clinic flow addressing patient/parent concerns and attaining positive patient and family outcomes
- Ensure the timely medical assessment of HIV, PrEP and/or GeMS Health clinic patients
- Demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to patient/family rights, age specific needs, cultural and ethical beliefs
- Participate regularly in staff development trainings and clinic projects to support continuous quality improvement
Job Requirements
- AAS or BSN required
- RN licensed in NY required
- Behavioral Health or HIV experience highly preferred
- Primary care experience
