About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Substance Abuse Nurse Manager to lead and oversee nursing operations within our substance use treatment program in Queens, NY. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in behavioral health and addiction treatment, along with a passion for compassionate, patient-centered care. As the Nurse Manager, this individual will supervise the nursing team, coordinate clinical services, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support client recovery and well-being.
The annual base salary range is $90,000 to $130,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and clinical supervision to nursing staff working in substance use disorder (SUD) treatment programs
- Oversee medication administration
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices for nursing care in collaboration with medical and administrative leadership
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA and Joint Commission standards
- Conduct staff training on addiction medicine, withdrawal management, harm reduction, and trauma-informed care
- Participate in case conferences, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety reviews
- Monitor patient outcomes and nursing performance metrics
- Serve as a liaison between nursing, medical, and counseling staff to foster coordinated care delivery
- Respond to emergencies, perform clinical interventions, and provide direct patient care as needed
Job Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in NY
- At least 3 years of experience working as an RN in substance abuse
- At least 3 years of experience working in a supervisory position
