About the Opportunity
Our client is an international law firm that is looking for a temporary Leadership Development Consultant to join their team in New York City. This individual will report to the Chief Talent Officer and will ideally will have a background in professional resources, practice management, learning and development, or DEI. The Consultant will also focus on executing an integration strategy for laterally joining partners to further enhance the lawyer experience and promote our Firm culture of collaboration.
The base pay range for this position is $45 to $55 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Explore leading industry practices to devise and deploy strategies fostering leadership engagement, talent development, and retention
- Shape and activate concepts for internal leadership development initiatives by incorporating insights from Firm partners and senior leaders
- Cultivate and nurture relationships with a diverse pool of top-tier executive coaches to bolster the Firm’s talent management, business growth, and executive leadership endeavors
- Identify and maintain connections with notable trainers and speakers to facilitate cutting-edge and pertinent firmwide activities
- Proactively collaborate with Business Development, Media, and Communications units to spearhead and synchronize strategies outlined in partner development blueprints
- Strategically oversee partner connections and introductory meetings, including office tours, departmental, and practice group gatherings for newly onboarded partners
- Act as a reliable advisor to lateral partners regarding their integration journey
- Initiate proactive communication with Business Development and marketing counterparts concerning practice synergies, client presentations, conferences, and other avenues to enhance the Firm’s reputation among new partners
- Lead and execute the Firm’s strategy for integrating new senior legal practitioners, including partners and senior counsel
- Supervise the dissemination of monthly activity updates and annual reports from the Leadership Development team, showcasing our programs, initiatives, and future objectives
- Manage all facets of event planning and coordination for talent development events and programs
- Offer mentorship and direction to junior team members
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 10 years of experience in People/HR, learning & development, or DEI function
- Experience in professional services and event programming a plus
- Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook; basic knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel
