About the Opportunity
Our client is global fintech platform that is looking to add a Consultant to their Corporate Finance Billing team in Stamford, CT. This is an excellent contract opportunity with great potential for conversion as the team builds out their financial support operations.
The base pay for this position is $50 to $70 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the initiative to enhance efficiency and automation of our existing revenue calculations and invoicing processes within the context of deploying a consolidated iCapital billing tool.
- Develop insightful reporting and analyses to support Finance and Data Solutions teams with actionable insights for performance reporting to management and investors.
- Identify and address process gaps, implementing robust internal controls, and improving documentation for internal control processes.
- Prepare various quarterly control documents for Data Solutions billing.
- Review new client orders and understand relevant economic terms as they relate to billing, revenue recognition and apply that understanding to billing and revenue calculations
- Review new client orders in the billing system for accuracy of set up
- Perform an analytical review of current cycle draft invoice calculations versus prior cycle invoices within the Data Solutions business at iCapital
- Release quarterly and monthly invoices for manager review
- Foster a culture of financial excellence by collaborating with client delivery managers, sales operations, finance leadership and external client contacts.
- Review daily cash receipts and apply to client invoices as instructed by clients.
- Investigate unapplied cash with accounting for additional details from banks, or with clients to receive accurate cash application.
- Perform level 1 collection procedures and respond to relevant client inquiries regarding invoices or banking details.
- Review the expected revenue entries into the G/L and management reporting tools for accuracy, based on actual and estimated invoices
- Prepare month end reconciliations AR, deferred revenue balances, and related bank accounts
- Prepare month over month and quarter over quarter roll forward for key revenue metrics.
Job Requirements
- 2-4 years of corporate accounting/public accounting experience within the financial services industry
- Outstanding financial analysis skills and understanding of accounting principles and US GAAP reporting, especially as it relates to ASC606
- Experience with revenue, treasury management, accounts receivable and payable, and cash reconciliations
- Knowledge of booking journal entries and preparation of financial statements
- Data-driven thinker who can manage large data sets for efficient analyses
- Organized and detail-oriented process manager who can prioritize and communicate clearly with senior leadership
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to coordinate across teams and departments to complete projects
- CPA license is preferred but not required
- Degree in accounting is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of Oracle ORMB, NetSuite, Quickbooks, or other general ledger systems is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with SalesForce is preferred but not required
