About the Opportunity
Our client, a recognized leader in large-scale distribution and logistics technology, is seeking an experienced Senior OpenShift Solution Architect. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to drive enterprise-grade containerization initiatives and cloud-native platform design across multiple business environments. The Architect will play a central role in shaping, implementing, and optimizing OpenShift-based solutions — collaborating closely with infrastructure, DevOps, application, and security teams to deliver secure, high-performance, and scalable systems aligned with organizational goals.
The base pay for this position is $70 to $84 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead architecture, design, and deployment of OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) clusters in public or hybrid cloud settings (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Oversee lifecycle management — installation, configuration, scaling, upgrades, and migrations — of OpenShift environments
- Partner with application teams to containerize workloads and onboard projects to OpenShift using industry best practices
- Integrate and enhance CI/CD pipelines within OpenShift, leveraging Operators, Helm charts, and platform extensions to optimize performance and reliability
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 15+ years of overall IT architecture or engineering experience.
- 10+ years of hands-on expertise with Kubernetes and/or OpenShift environments.
- Proven experience with OpenShift 4.x, including Operators, CRDs, Routes, and cluster management.
- Advanced proficiency with Linux (RHEL/CentOS), networking, storage, and security within containerized infrastructures.
- Background deploying OpenShift on bare metal, VMware, or cloud-managed solutions (ROSA, ARO, GCP).
- Strong understanding of DevSecOps, GitOps, and cloud-native system design.
Certifications Preferred:
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration or OpenShift Architecture
- AWS, Azure, or GCP certifications
