About the Opportunity:
We seek a Dental Assistant to provide high-level patient care and satisfaction in a team-based environment. This part-time contract position involves handling various clinical duties related to dental office operations, with opportunities to learn and grow. The role requires exceptional customer service and communication skills, contributing to a professional practice environment.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $30.25 to $35.75 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure a welcoming and well-prepared treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Prepare patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping them.
- Serve as a key communicator within the practice, providing information and support to patients and colleagues.
- Provide instrumentation by sterilizing, delivering, and positioning instruments for dentist access.
- Provide materials by selecting, mixing, and placing them on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
- Provide diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies, pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.
- Maintain patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restorations and cleaning removable appliances.
- Help manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification and emergency supplies.
- Educate patients by providing oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
- Document dental care services by charting in patient records.
- Protect operations by keeping patient information confidential.
- Adhere to infection-control policies and protocols to protect patients and employees.
- Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuing education.
Job Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or one year of hands-on experience as a Dental Assistant.
- CPR certification.
- X-ray training or certification.
