About the Opportunity:
This is a full-time contract position for an Interventional Radiology Rad Tech at a hospital. The role involves conducting Interventional Radiology procedures with a focus on neurosurgery and neuroscience. Responsibilities include producing diagnostic quality radiologic images, administering oral contrast, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting the Radiologist during procedures. Rad Techs also demonstrate proficiency with all x-ray equipment, CR, and DR systems and report equipment malfunctions. Maintaining patient rights, providing compassionate care, and engaging in performance improvement activities form a vital part of the responsibilities. Call duties include 1-2 times per week and 1-2 weekends of call per month.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $71.50 to $84.50 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducting Interventional Radiology procedures with a focus on neurosurgery and neuroscience.
- Administering oral contrast per exam requirements.
- Instructing and preparing patients for radiographic/fluoroscopic examinations.
- Demonstrating competence in the operation of all x-ray equipment, CR, and DR systems.
- Collaborating with department members to resolve problems and enhance services.
- Monitoring patient rights and maintaining sensitivity in patient interactions.
- Participating in documentation and information management using HIS, RIS, and PACS.
Job Requirements:
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY).
- Minimum two years of experience in Radiology.
- Licensing in the state of NY.
- Experience in neurosurgery/neuroscience.
- AART certification required; VIR certification is nice to have.
