About the Opportunity:
This position as a Registered Nurse in the Psychiatric Emergency Room involves conducting intake assessments, planning and providing nursing care, and making nursing diagnoses to recommend treatment options. Collaborating with psychiatrists and other behavioral health staff, you create appropriate treatment plans. You administer medications, assist clients in understanding emotional disturbances, and ensure a safe environment for staff and patients. Documentation of patient information and maintaining confidentiality are critical components of the role. This is a full-time contract position offering 48 hours per week with a D/N rotational weekend block schedule. The estimated base pay for these positions is $46.75 to $55.25 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives.
- Plan and provide nursing care for patients.
- Make nursing diagnoses and recommend treatment options.
- Consult with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff for treatment plan design.
- Administer and monitor medication reactions.
- Arrange further medical attention as necessary.
- Ensure patient understanding of emotional disturbances and treatment needs.
- Maintain a safe environment for staff and patients.
- Test for vital signs and ensure pain treatment.
- Document patient information and maintain accurate records.
- Perform administrative tasks and respond to service requests.
Job Requirements:
- NY License ONLY.
- BLS Certification (AHA) ONLY.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a relevant setting.
- Telemetry experience required.
