About the Opportunity:
The Anesthesia Technician provides essential support to anesthesiologists in delivering anesthesia care to patients. Responsibilities include the preparation and maintenance of anesthesia equipment, assisting with patient procedures such as intubations and central line catheter placements, and operating specialized equipment like the cell-saver machine. This full-time contract position involves working from 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM with required availability for holidays, weekends, on-call, and call-back as needed.
The estimated base pay for these positions is $25.30 to $29.90 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and maintaining anesthesia equipment for patient procedures.
- Communicate continuously with anesthesiologists and anesthesia team members to fulfill needs.
- Operate and provide maintenance for the cell-saver machine, and support advanced surgical cases.
- Ensure anesthesia equipment is operational and perform advanced troubleshooting.
- Participate in developing and implementing in-service training programs for staff.
- Perform anesthesia equipment setup and testing.
- Set up rooms and carts between cases, ensuring equipment availability for procedures.
- Provide support in the absence of the shift supervisor.
Job Requirements:
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Two years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician.
- Preferred: Four-year college education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred: Certification by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists or similar body.
