About the Opportunity:
The RN in the Med Surg division operates within a fast-paced Adult Emergency Department (ED) that manages more than 100,000 visits annually and is recognized as one of the busiest trauma centers in the country. This facility serves as the only Level I trauma hospital in the area. The role involves managing a diverse patient population with a myriad of diagnoses and is exclusively responsible for the care of med/surg boarder patients within the ED. The position observes a 1:5 patient ratio with assistive personnel and does not require prior ED experience. This is a full-time contract position that includes rotating shifts for days, evenings, nights, along with holidays, on-call duties, callback, and weekends as needed.
The estimated base pay for these positions are $51.70 to $61.10 per hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducting assessments and creating care plans for med/surg boarder patients.
- Providing necessary care and treatments to patients based on assessments.
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Monitoring and documenting patient progress and vital signs.
Job Requirements:
- NYS RN License.
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience.
- Telemetry experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
