About the Opportunity
We are partnered with a company that is looking for a (Sr.) Manager, Contracts to join their growing team. The Manager / Senior Manager, Contracts is responsible for providing contract support across a broad range of business functions, including Clinical Operations, Research & Development, Manufacturing, Finance, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Corporate Operations. This remote role will review, draft, and negotiate a variety of agreements, optimize contract management processes, maintain contract documentation, and provide timely updates on contract status to internal stakeholders.
The annual base salary range is $120,000 to $160,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial and clinical agreements, including confidentiality agreements, clinical trial site agreements, vendor and service agreements, manufacturing and supply agreements, consulting agreements, software and data licensing agreements, amendments, and change orders
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders, including Clinical Operations, Finance, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Technical Operations, Legal, and other business functions to ensure contracts meet operational needs while minimizing legal and business risk
- Manage the full contract lifecycle, including contract intake, template management, review and negotiation, routing for internal approvals, execution, document management, renewal tracking, and contract closeout
- Maintain accurate contract records and reporting, providing regular updates on contract status, execution timelines, renewal dates, and key performance metrics to leadership
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve contract processes, templates, and standard operating procedures to enhance efficiency, consistency, and compliance
- Ensure all agreements comply with applicable laws, industry regulations (including FDA, EMA, HIPAA, and other relevant requirements), internal policies, and corporate governance standards
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Paralegal or contract certification preferred
- Minimum 4 years of experience in contracts management at a biotechnology/pharmaceutical company
- Experience drafting and negotiating contracts for Phase I-IV clinical studies preferred
- Ability to understand and analyze contract terms, accurately identify and assess risks, make decisions with respect to contract content in alignment with the company’s risk tolerance and contracting standards, and offer a practical, business-minded approach to contract negotiation
