Speech Language Pathologist

Location: New York, NY

Salary: Commensurate with experience

A skilled nursing facility is seeking an experienced, licensed Speech Language Pathologist to join their growing rehab department. In this position, the SLP will evaluate and treat residents with short and long-term speech, hearing, swallowing and cognitive disabilities. The SLP will be responsible for developing residents’ treatment plans and restoring day to day functionality.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Screen and evaluate residents and develop appropriate care plan
  • Under a physician’s direction, provides direct treatment based on established plan of care
  • Plan and conduct rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication and/or swallowing or cognitive problems
  • Administer, score, and interpret specialized hearing and speech tests
  • Instruct residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and ways to practice new skills
  • Complete required forms and documents in accordance with company policy
  • Maintain patient records in an accurate and timely manner
  • Devise special tools and treatments for the specific needs of patients
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 Job Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree from Accredited SLP program
  • CCC’s from ASHA
  • New York SLP license
  • At least 1+ year of SLP experience working with adults and geriatrics
  • LSVT Certification is a plus
