About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading investment management firm, is seeking an experienced Front Office Software Engineer to join its technology team in New York City. This individual will work closely with investment and technology professionals to develop and enhance systems supporting the firm’s investment activities.
The position offers exposure to a range of financial products and investment strategies, with the opportunity to contribute to the continued development of sophisticated front-office technology. This role follows a hybrid schedule.
The annual base salary range is $160,000 to $200,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with investment and technology teams to develop solutions for complex front-office business needs
- Design, build, and maintain scalable applications and services supporting investment workflows
- Develop tools and functionality used to support analytics, valuation, and risk-related processes
- Enhance the performance, reliability, and scalability of existing technology platforms
- Partner with engineers across the organization to develop well-integrated technology solutions
- Contribute to the design and ongoing development of the firm’s investment technology infrastructure
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, physics, or a related technical discipline
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience within financial services
- Experience developing production-grade applications using an object-oriented programming language such as Java or C#
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
- Experience working with trading, investment, pricing, risk, or other financial systems preferred
- Knowledge of fixed income or derivatives products is a plus
Bonus Skills
- Experience with Python, C++, or other programming languages
- Familiarity with financial markets and market data
- Experience developing high-performance or enterprise-scale applications
- Previous exposure to technology supporting investment or trading teams
- Familiarity with modern software development tools and practices, including AI-assisted development tools
