About the Opportunity
Our client is an American multinational law firm in New York that consistently ranks among the top U.S. law firms by revenue. They are actively seeking to hire a Network Engineer to join their team in White Plains to support and maintain the Firm’s production infrastructure. The candidate in this role will take ownership of the production infrastructure including, WAN, LAN, administration, analysis, installation, configuration, maintenance, and documentation.
The base pay for this role $40 to $55 an hour. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in proactive service management and incident response to eliminate and mitigate operational issues that impact end-users
- Monitor the health, performance and availability of computer systems using diversified tools
- Troubleshoot and resolve malfunctioning hardware, software, and environmental alerts
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and escalate to team for remediation
- Work collaboratively to resolve problems within the team and as necessary escalate to internal and external engineering resources
- Work proactively to triage or troubleshoot alerts, events and issues that impact the Firm’s production IT Infrastructure
- Generally follow standard operating procedures (SOP) for scheduled tasks
- Coordinate with third-party vendors, satellite office contacts, or other IT teams for a holistic problem solving and communication
- Responses to incidents and carefully tracks and documents all defects and resolutions in detail
- Assist with helping to increase the expert knowledge base of NOC and maintenance of system’s health record
- Work within the Firms ticketing system and is accountable for updating, tracking, and resolving incidents
- Escalates to management all technical issues that are impacting service and require an immediate response or troubleshooting Coordinate engineering resources (other IT resources, 3rd party or vendors, etc.) to collaboratively work to resolve the issue as soon as possible
- Maintain communication channels within intra teams or outside so that all stakeholders are kept informed ahead in a time bound manner
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in a technology-related discipline or three years of relevant experience or Military Occupational Specialty
- Minimum 3 years of experience in information technology in an area such as networking, desktop engineering, programming, systems administration, help desk
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Windows, Linux system administration
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Cisco Switch and Router administration
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Virtual Enterprise Supporting, Citrix, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint
