About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading fintech platform, is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Product Risk and Strategy to join their Product team in Salt Lake City on a hybrid schedule. This high-visibility role will be key to enhancing platform resilience, integrating risk management into product decisions, and driving improvements that impact the entire product and engineering roadmap. The ideal candidate will serve as an expert in incident management, risk analytics, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver meaningful operational and strategic results.
The annual base salary range is $110,000 to $130,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
Job Responsibilities
- Own and manage the entire incident lifecycle, including intake, triage, root cause analysis, escalation, and resolution
- Distill and document recurring issues, proposing and implementing fixes that influence product strategy and platform roadmap
- Embed risk-adjusted thinking into product planning, development, and new launches
- Develop, standardize, and maintain playbooks and procedures aligned to enterprise frameworks
- Prepare clear and concise updates, documentation, and executive summaries for leadership and key stakeholders
- Leverage risk and incident analytics to shape priorities and track progress on remediation
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Technology, Operations, and Risk to ensure effective tracking, accountability, and systemic solutions
- Utilize workflow and dashboarding tools to efficiently document, resolve, and report on incidents
Job Requirements
- 6–10+ years of experience in product management, risk management, or operations within complex, high-growth environments
- Deep understanding of product lifecycle risks, operational controls, and incident management best practices
- Fintech or financial services industry experience preferred; familiarity with SDLC and enterprise risk frameworks a plus
- Strong analytical capabilities, with comfort using data and dashboards (Tableau or similar) to identify patterns and drive decisions
- Excellent communication skills, with proven ability to prepare executive-level updates and documentation
- Experience influencing stakeholders and driving accountability within cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with SQL and workflow tools (JIRA, Monday.com) strongly preferred
