Cardiac Nurse Practitioner

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our client’s multidisciplinary cardiology team in Hackensack, providing comprehensive care across inpatient and outpatient settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical foundation in cardiovascular health, with a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. This role is integral in supporting the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions.

The annual base salary range is $120,000 to $150,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments, physical exams, and diagnostics for patients with cardiovascular conditions
  • Manage and monitor patients with heart failure, arrhythmias, coronary artery disease, and post-operative recovery
  • Collaborate closely with cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and hospital staff to ensure seamless patient care
  • Provide consultation and care in both inpatient units (e.g., telemetry, step-down, ICU) and outpatient clinics
  • Educate patients and families on disease management, medications, and lifestyle modifications
  • Order and interpret labs, EKGs, imaging, and other diagnostics
  • Participate in care planning, discharge coordination, and transitional care initiatives
  • Maintain clear documentation in the EMR and comply with institutional protocols and evidence-based practices
  • Participate in quality improvement and professional development activities

 

Job Requirements

  • Current NP license and board certification (AGACNP or FNP with relevant experience preferred)
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a nurse practitioner in cardiology or a related acute care setting
  • Active state RN and NP license in good standing
  • Strong clinical decision-making, time management, and communication skills
  • Experience working in both hospital and ambulatory settings is highly desirable
  • Full-time schedule with rotating coverage across inpatient and outpatient settings
